The new single and title track from the album Leavin' 101!
On Feb 1, 2022, Geoffrey Miller releases his second full-length album comprised of 13 original songs. A native and life-long resident of rural California, Miller channels his deeply engrained sense of Bakersfield-style country into Leavin’ 101. From the lyrical content of the title track to stylistic nods toward Bakersfield sound pioneers Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Don Rich, and Red Simpson, the follow up album is true California country.
Leavin’ 101 includes performances from industry heavies, including Scott Joss (Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson) on fiddle, Travis Toy (Rascal Flats) on steel guitar, Max Hart (Melissa Ethridge, Katy Perry) on steel guitar, and Zack Sapunor (Hot Club of Cowtown, Wayne Hancock) on bass. The album is mixed and mastered by vintage country and rockabilly recording artist Deke Dickerson at Ecco-Fonic Studio.
In December 2020, Geoffrey Miller releases his first solo album, “All Night Honky Tonk Man”. The debut album is comprised of 12 original songs ranging from rockin’ cheating songs, tear-welling love-lamenting ballads, rockabilly country bops, and reflections on lonesome isolation inspired by quarantine during the COVID pandemic.
Album credits include performances by roots country and rockabilly heavies Carl Sonny Leyland on piano, Scott Joss (Dwight Yoakum, Merle Haggard, and Kris Kristofferson) on fiddle, Lee Jeffriess (Big Sandy and His Fly Rite Boys) on steel guitar, and Travis Toy (Patty Loveless, Rascal Flats) on steel guitar. Also on the album are Bill Bergren on steel guitar, Larry Carr on drums, Jim Frink on drums, and Zack Sapunor on bass. Recorded by Jim Baughman (guitarist for Merle Haggard), and mixed by Deke Dickerson at Ecco-Fonic Studios.
